This video was created to provide a brief overview of what Single-Stream Recycling is and how it works in St. Louis. It includes interviews with citizens, local officials and area professionals active in the recycling industry.
From the kitchen, to the curb, to the Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) - where the co-mingled recyclables (paper, plastic, bottles, cans, etc.) are mechanically sorted, bundled and marketed for reuse.
Participants - homeowners and businesses - save time and space by collecting recyclables in one container. Combined collection for mechanical sorting - The Single-Stream Way!
